WHS announces 2025 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees

Five individuals will be inducted into the Worthington High School Athletic Hall of Fame and be recognized during halftime of the Trojan football game this Friday night.


Clint Meyer, a member of the WHS Class of 1999, received multiple accolades over his four-year basketball career and was also an all-conference baseball player. He also participated in cross country while in high school. Meyer has coached basketball for 17 years, including 11 years as head coach.


Casey Werner, a member of the Class of 1995, lettered in basketball over two years and earned multiple honors. He also lettered in baseball and football for two years each.  


Matthew Cowdin, of the WHS Class of 2006, earned numerous accolades while lettering in football for three years as well as in wrestling for six years, a sport in which he posted more than 100 career wins. He also lettered in baseball for three years, earning multiple honors. He went on to play football and baseball at Minnesota West.


Jay Scheidt, from the WHS Class of 2005, lettered three years in both football and basketball, receiving multiple honors along the way. He also lettered for two years in baseball and earn ed recognition for his performance in that sport. Scheidt played both football and baseball at Minnesota West and continued his football career at Minnesota State University, Mankato.


Amy Ernst has been a dedicated and invaluable presence within Worthington athletics for more than 30 years. Her technical expertise has been crucial to the success of Trojan athletics, providing support in areas such as concussion testing, videoboard and scoreboard operation, sound systems, live streaming and troubleshooting a wide range of challenges. She has also served as an announcer, scoreboard operator and site supervisor across multiple sports.
