Weber earns 2026 Legislator of Distinction honor from LMC

The League of Minnesota Cities has recognized 23 state lawmakers — 14 representatives and nine senators — as 2026 Legislators of Distinction. Honorees were selected for specific actions that supported Minnesota cities during the past legislative session.

The annual awards are approved by the League’s Board of Directors to recognize the collaboration between state and city officials required to serve shared communities and meet the needs of rural, urban and suburban residents across Minnesota. Among the lawmakers recognized was District 21 Sen. Bill Weber, a Luverne Republican.

To qualify for the award, legislators must meet one or more of the following criteria: maintain reasonable accessibility to League representatives; seek input on issues vital to municipal government; listen to League concerns and remain receptive to information provided; sponsor or support League legislative initiatives; advocate publicly on behalf of city interests; and demonstrate the value of state-city partnerships.
