WAYBA seeking donations for ballpark improvements

The Worthington Area Youth Baseball Association has established a fundraising goal of $150,000 for multiple ballpark improvements.

WAYBA indicated that $50,000 of the goal has already been raised. The improvement plans encompass steel shade covers over stands, an elevated deck over dugouts, a new backstop and netting system, an outfield berm and viewing area and left field group seating rooms. Work already completed through donations includes a vendor kiosk and plaza, picnic tables and umbrellas, and an improved playing field.

Sponsorship levels are: single, $250 and under; double, $251 to $500; triple, $501 to $1,000; home run, $1,001 to $5,000; and grand slam, over $5,000. The gift of any financial amount is welcome, and there will be a donor wall.

Contributions can be made on the WAYBA website, www.worthingtonyouthbaseball.com Information will be available at all games at the field for the rest of this summer season, and people may also reach out to a board member listed on the website about making a contribution.
