Unbeaten WCFC Toros back at home Saturday

The Worthington Community Football Club Toros, off to a 2-0 start this season, will play their second home match of the year at 5 p.m. Saturday when they face off against Superior City FC.

The Toros, who earned a 4-3 triumph in their opening match against Leon on Aug. 27 at Trojan Field, followed that effort up with a 3-0 road victory Sunday against the Vlora Football Club in Burnsville. Worthington was up 3-0 at the half and maintained that advantage throughout the final 45 minutes.

Pato Moreno scored the initial goal for the Toros on a header off of the corner from Christopher Cerda. Juani Mackey, who scored a pair of goals in the win over Leon, put one in the net at the 31-minute mark to make it a 2-0 game, and Cerda connected with Mackey with a cross for another score at 39 minutes for the third Worthington goal.

Following their match Saturday, the Toros will travel to St. Cloud on Thursday, May 16 for a match against the Granite City FC.
