Two-vehicle crash in Iowa 60 injures Sibley woman

A Sibley woman was injured in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday in Sioux County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2013 Kia Forte operated by Emmagene Martin, 71, of Cherokee was northbound on Sioux County K-64 and a 2000 Chevrolet Corvette operated by Darlene Janssen, 72, of Sibley was southbound on Iowa 60. Martin was reportedly attempting to make a left turn when the two collided in the intersection. The crash took place shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Janssen was taken by ambulance to the Orange City hospital. A total of $15,000 in damage was estimated to the Kia. Damage to the Chevrolet Janssen was driving was put at about $26,000. Martin was cited for failure to yield upon entering a highway.
