Two students announced as Federated scholarship recipients

Federated Rural Electric of Jackson has announced the names of two students receiving the 19th annual Federated/Basin Scholarships.


Aliza Liepold, Lakefield, receives a $2,500 Basin/Federated scholarship. Liepold is a senior at Jackson County Central High School. She plans to attend University of South Dakota. She plans to major in biology and then proceed onto an optometry degree. Liepold is the daughter of Wes and Amber.


Dawson Dorr, Salem, SD, receives the $1,500 Federated/L&O/Basin Scholarship. Dorr is a senior at Montrose High School; he will attend South Dakota State University to major in wildlife biology. Dorr is the son of Derek and Rebecca.


The Basin scholarships are available to Federated members with high school seniors and college students who will be enrolled full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school. The Federated/Basin Scholarships have funded 40 students that totaling $42,000 since 2008.
