Two Nobles County youth attend 4-H conference

Youth from across Minnesota gathered in Bemidji recently for the annual 4 H Youth Exploring Leadership and Learning Opportunities (YELLO) conference. Emma Hietrbink and Whitney Henning from Nobles County participated in the state-wide event.

The conference was facilitated by youth leaders from the Minnesota 4-H State Ambassador program and supported by a team of adult chaperones. This year the theme was “Branch Out With 4-H”. Youth participants learned how to find ways to use their strengths and the strengths of those around them to be positive change-makers and role models to impact their community for the greater good.

Youth participants also engaged in team-building exercises and opportunities to build life-long skills and get to know other youth from across the state. The statewide service theme for the 2022-2023 program year is “Branch Out and Go Green with Minnesota 4-H,” which encourages youth to perform service that has a positive impact on the environment. Youth participated with several local organizations to complete acts of service that provided a positive impact on the environment.
