Two injured in Friday evening crash near Mountain Lake

A 26-year-old woman and 2-year-old girl were both taken to Windom Area Health with injuries following a Friday evening crash in Cottonwood County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2015 Dodge Durango operated by Alizaye Chriscynthia Prins, 26, of Mankato, and a 2015 Chrysler 200 operated by Antony Warui Gacheru, 27, of Mankato, were both westbound on Minnesota 60 when they collided at Cottonwood County 2. The crash was reported at 8:16 p.m. Friday.

Prins and her 2-year-old passenger both sustained non-life-threatening injuries; Gacheru was unhurt. The Windom Ambulance, the Windom Fire and Police Departments, the Cottonwood County Sheriff's Office and the Mountain Lake Police Department assisted at the scene.
