Two hurt in Tuesday night crash on U.S. 75

Two people were hospitalized as a result of a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night in Pipestone County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the vehicles involved were a 2005 Ford Taurus operated by Marquin Lakeith Jones, 47, of Pipestone and a 2019 Peterbilt semi operated by Justin Lee Vink, 34, of Maurice, Iowa. The Taurus was traveling southbound on U.S. 75 and the Peterbilt semi northbound, and the vehicles collided while the Ford was attempting to make a U-turn. The crash took place at 10:28 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of U.S. 75 and 51st Street in Elmer Township.

Jones and a passenger, Elizabeth Kelly-Marie Neece, 27, of Pipestone, were both transported to Pipestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Vink was unhurt. The Pipestone Sheriff’s Office, Jasper Fire and Ambulance and Pipestone Ambulance assisted at the scene.
