Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon has received a million-dollar grant to open a facility in Rock Rapids.
The funding is through the state's Career Academy Incentive Fund to empower more students with pathways to post-secondary success. It will allow for the creation of a new regional center in Rock Rapids that will house four academic pathways, including agriculture, business, education and health care.
Students from Central Lyon, George-Little Rock, Sibley-Ocheyedon and West Lyon will be able to utilize the center, which is expected to be operational in fall 2027.
