Two hurt in Minnesota 23 crash in Lyon County

Two individuals were injured and Tuesday night and transported to Marshall’s hospital as the result of a two-vehicle crash in snowy/icy conditions in Lyon County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2011 BMW 528 operated by Matthew Allen Vallejio, 20, of Maynard was northbound on Minnesota 23 and a 2017 Dodge Journey operated by Kathleen Jacqueline Preuss, 59, of Wood Lake was southbound. One vehicle lost control, came across the center line and collided with other. The crash took place at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday at milepost 82 on Minnesota 23 in Vallers Township.

Both Vallejo and Preuss were transported with non-life-threatening injuries. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and Cottonwood Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
