H-LP to host special event for new elementary school this weekend

The Harris-Lake Park Community School District will welcome members of the Iowa House of Representatives, Iowa Senate and regional media to the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new elementary school this Saturday.

The event marks a significant milestone for both the district and the Harris-Lake Park community as it celebrates the completion of a state-of-the-art learning environment designed to serve students for generations to come. The new elementary school features modern classrooms, collaborative learning spaces, enhanced security measures and improved accessibility — all designed to support student achievement and foster engaging, future-focused learning experiences.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, legislators, community members and media representatives will have the opportunity to tour the facility, capture photographs and video, and visit with members of the Board of Education.
