Twins, White Sox spit double header

The Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox split a doubleheader in the Windy City yesterday. Twins slugger Nelson Cruz hit a home run and a sacrifice fly to lead his team to a 3-2 victory in the opener. Both games were scheduled for seven innings, but Cruz's sacrifice fly broke a 1-1 tie in the eighth inning to help send Minnesota to the win. Tyler Duffey notched the win in relief. The White Sox claimed the nightcap 5-3 on a walk-off homer by Gavin Sheets in the bottom of the seventh inning. Chicago belted three homers in the game. Minnesota pitcher Jose Berrios worked six innings and allowed five runs in taking the loss. Twins catcher Mitch Garver came off of the Injured List and pounded two home runs in game two.

The same two teams play tonight in Chicago at 7:10 P-M, 6:30 pre game on KWOA the FAN!
