Three people were injured and transported to Windom Area Health following a two-car crash early Monday on Minnesota 60.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the crash took place at 1:41 a.m. Monday. A 2014 Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 17-year-old female was traveling eastbound on Minnesota 60 and pulling a trailer, while a 2019 Kenworth semi operated by Kevin Leroy Bates, 45, of Le Mars, Iowa was also eastbound on Minnesota 60. The two vehicles collided at the intersection with Jackson County 24, near milepost 28 in Weimer Township.
Bates was taken to Windom Area Health with a non-life-threatening injury. Two passers in the Silverado -- Brett Gerald Jasperson, 35, of Canby and Katelyn Marie Ulrich, 21, of Lafayette -- were also taken to Windom Area Health with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Silverado was uninjured.
Assisting at the scene were the Heron Lake Fire Department, Ambulance and Police Department, the Windom Ambulance and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
