Sterling Pharmacy announces the conclusion of its annual Alzheimer’s Association fundraising campaign, with a grand total of $34,894 raised by employees, customers and community members across all Sterling Pharmacy locations.
With the Astrup Family Foundation’s matching donation, the campaign will contribute $69,788 to the Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Throughout June, Sterling Pharmacy locations turned purple in support of the cause, with fundraising activities that included:
Pin-up sales at every pharmacy, filling walls with names and messages of hope.
Bake sales and cookie sales — complete with a Giant Cookie in the Face challenge at Sterling Worthington.
The Longest Day Virtual 5K, encouraging movement for a meaningful cause.
Colorful chalk art fundraisers and food truck events.
A silent auction, puzzle competitions and a garage sale — all organized by employees.
Generous individual donations from coworkers, friends and family members.
The annual campaign honors Leonard Astrup, founder of Sterling Drug, who passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Since the campaign’s inception in 2016, more than $500,000 has now been raised to support Alzheimer’s care, advocacy and research.
