Stabbing investigated in George, Iowa

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office investigated a stabbing incident Sunday morning in George.

Deputies were dispatched at approximately 8 a.m. Sunday to the 300 block of East Indiana for an individual who had been stabbed. According to the sheriff’s office, it was found upon arrival at the scene that the 24-year-old victim had been stabbed multiple times. The victim was transported to Avera Rock Rapids and then was air lifted to Sioux Falls.


The sheriff’s office states that the incident is still under investigation and that there is no threat to public safety.


The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by George EMS, George Fire Department, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Iowa Department of Transportation Enforcement Division and Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
