A South Dakota woman has been sentenced in a meth conspiracy case. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Iowa says 45-year-old Ruby Blankenship of Brandon, South Dakota was sentenced last week in U.S. District Court to more than 5 years in federal prison after pleading guilty in November of last year to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Evidence presented at court hearings showed that from about November 2019 through March of 2020 Blankenship and others conspired to distribute more than 22 pounds of meth, and that she allowed others to store the drug at her home in the Lakes Area. According to the information, co-conspirators traveled to California and obtained 20 pounds of methamphetamine that was brought back to Iowa, hidden in the gas tank of the vehicle.
In March of last year law enforcement executed a search warrant at the location and seized 20 pounds of meth from the property and vehicles that were leaving the scene.
