Minnesota West is welcoming back its popular Solar Camp, an opportunity for students in any electrician program across Minnesota State colleges.
This year’s camp kicks off with a flexible online course in March, followed by a hands-on, in-person lab experience ending June 9, 2026. Students attending the lab in Canby can opt to stay at Carr Residence Hall for the full three-week session.
Instructor Judy Drown, a leader in solar and electrical education, urges students to take advantage of this high-demand training. “There are plenty of solar installer jobs available across Minnesota,” she says.
Past participants have raved about the experience, citing the practical skills, industry insights and career boost they gained. Scholarships for $500 are available; students may apply now.
