Scott Burns is named District 518 Teacher of the Year

Education Minnesota-Worthington hosted its annual Teacher of the Year and Recognition event on Wednesday night, and Scott Burns — an interventionist at Worthington Middle School and an educator for 40 years — was honored as Teacher of the Year.
Other nominees for the award were Erin Ahrens and Jenny Neuman. Additionally, Rodney Rowe, former Prairie Elementary teacher and Education Minnesota-Worthington member and past president, was honored as the Outstanding Member of the Year and Friend of Education.
District retirees were also honored for their years of service. They included: David Blanchard, 22 years; Julie Ebbers, 22 years; Rhonda Bonnstetter, four years; Bonnie Bents, 32 years; Karen Skog, 26 years; and Mara Jirele, 25 years.
