Sanford Worthington Medical Center earns national recognition for high quality

Sanford Worthington Medical Center has been named one of the top 100 rural and community hospitals in the United States. The Chartis Center for Rural Health, which provides thorough analytics to the healthcare industry, recently released its 2022 list for “Top 100 Rural & Community,” which included Sanford Worthington Medical Center.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has magnified just how important it is to have health care close to home. This recognition from the Chartis Center demonstrates the excellence of Sanford Worthington and our commitment to serve this community,” said Jennifer Weg, executive director of Sanford Worthington Medical Center, in a press release. “I continue to be proud of all team members at Sanford Worthington. They have achieved this award through patient-centered care focused on the highest quality.”

Sanford Worthington Medical Center is there for patients in their critical time of need, but for other non-emergent needs, Sanford can cater to patients with specialty clinics within the hospital and throughout the city of Worthington.

The top 100 list is based on results from the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX™. For the past 12 years, this INDEX has been a comprehensive assessment of exceptional performances and innovation of rural hospitals. The INDEX benchmarks performance across eight pillars of performance including inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge and financial efficiency.
