The Sibley-Ocheyedan School District is reporting that it's seeing an increase in student absences across the district due to illnesses.
An email from school district nurse Ashley Hensch states that the majority of symptoms reported are headaches, sore throats, fevers and some stomach issues. Parents are advised to encourage their children to practice the following to prevent spreading of germs:
Good hand hygiene OFTEN
Get plenty of rest
Stay home when sick
Cover your cough
Stay hydrated and DON'T SHARE DRINKS
Keep hands to yourself
Also, please remember that if your child has a fever (over 100 degrees), he/she MUST stay home until there has been no fever for 24 hours without the use of Tylenol or Ibuprofen.
