Osceola County meeting on child care is Aug. 31

The Osceola County child care steering committee will host a public meeting at 6 p.m. Aug. 31 to share insights into the recent strategic planning process and steps going forward.


Parents and anyone interested in learning more are welcome to attend the meeting, which will tale place in the Sibley-Ocheyedan High School auditorium. The focus of the meeting will be the sharing a Child Care Market Analysis, as well as plans and goals identified to help address child care shortages in Osceola County.


First Children’s Finance will present the study and strategic plan, and the child care steering committee and various resource partners will be in attendance.


Among the goals and strategics of the strategic plan are: increasing the supply of DHS-regulated child care spaces in Osceola County by 140 spaces; developing business and community supports for viable child care businesses; engaging employers and the community in child care partnerships; providing a local connection to resources and supports for both existing and prospective child care providers; establishing a county-wide child care initiative fund; and providing resources and information about child care-related benefits to local employers.


All are welcome to attend the Aug. 31 meeting. No registration is necessary.
