One hurt in Wednesday morning crash on Minnesota 60

A Sioux Center, Iowa man was transported to Sanford Worthington Medical Center following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Minnesota 60 in Nobles County.


According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2009 Kenworth semi tractor operated by Mark J. Bayliff, 46, of Hooper, Nebraska was northbound on Minnesota 60, and a 2008 Ford Escape operated by Calixto Lopezmorales, 33, of Sioux Center was southbound. The semi tractor entered the median and traveled into the southbound lanes, striking the Escape. The crash was reported at 9:16 a.m. Wednesday and took place at Minnnesota 60’s mile marker 1 in Bigelow Township.


Lopezmorales was transported to Sanford Worthington Medical Center with a non-life-threatening injury. Bayliff was uninjured.


The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office, Bigelow and Worthington fire departments and Worthington Ambulance assisted at the scene.
