One hurt in Friday morning Nobles County crash

One individual was transported to Worthington’s hospital following a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in Nobles County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2014 Chevrolet Cruse operated by Luis Fernando Lopez, 30, of Worthington and a 2017 Toyota RAV4 operated by Ana Ramona Alcantar, 59, of Rushmore were both traveling southbound on Minnesota 91 when they collided in an attempt to avoid striking a deer in the roadway. The incident was reported at 7:43 a.m. Friday from the intersection of Minnesota 91 and 140th Street in Leota Township.

Alcantar was taken to Sanford Worthington Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, while Lopez was unhurt. The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office, Lismore Fire Department and EMS and the Adrian Ambulance assisted at the scene.
