Northwest Iowa Community College earns education recognition

Northwest Iowa Community College (NCC) in Sheldon has received national recognition in the 2025 Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. School officials say the recognition affirms the college’s mission of “empowering students through accessible, high-quality, affordable education.”

NCC was classified as a Professions-focused "Associate: Small institution," which highlights the college's commitment to hands-on, career-centered learning. In addition, NCC received the classification of "Opportunity Colleges and Universities – Higher Access, Higher Earnings" within the Student Access and Earnings category. This designation recognizes institutions that expand educational access while delivering strong wage outcomes for graduates.
