Nobles County Toys for Tots gives thanks for community's generosity

Nobles County Toys for Tots successfully concluded its annual Christmas campaign, distributing 4,318 toys to 1,457 children throughout Nobles County.

Thanks to the generosity of local residents, businesses, and organizations, children across the community were able to experience the joy, warmth, and spirit of the holiday season, noted Dan Harrington, coordinator of Nobles County Toys for Tots -- who serves alongside his wife, Caryn — in a press release.

Beyond the Christmas campaign, Nobles County Toys for Tots serves families year-round by providing toys and support to children affected by house fires, displacement, emergencies and other unexpected hardships. This ongoing mission ensures that children receive comfort and encouragement during challenging times, not only during the holidays.

Said Harrington: “This program truly reflects the compassion and generosity of our community. Every toy collected and every volunteer hour donated helps bring hope, comfort, and smiles to children when they need it most.”

The press release added that the success of this year’s campaign would not have been possible without the dedication and support of volunteers, donors, local businesses, service organizations, and community partners. Their continued commitment plays a vital role in meeting the needs of families throughout Nobles County.

Toys for Tots is a national program of the United States Marine Corps Reserve that partners with local communities to collect and distribute new toys year-round. Led by Marine Corps Reserve units and supported by volunteers, the program’s mission is to deliver hope, comfort and happiness to children in need.
