A final proposed levy increase of 5.46% was presented Thursday during the Nobles County Truth in Taxation meeting.
The county’s total proposed budget for 2023 is now set for $44.66 million, which represents a 9.578% increase from that of the previous year. The total property tax levy is set at $16.45 million, and while that does reflect a 5.46% increase, it’s far lower than the proposed levy hike of 14% proposed at the start of the 2023 budget process.
The proposed budget will go before the Nobles County Board of Commissioners for approval at its next regular board meeting, scheduled for 9 a.m. Dec. 20.
