The Nobles County Fair gets into full swing Wednesday at the fairgrounds in Worthington and continues through the weekend.
4-H events scheduled for today include the poultry, rabbit and sheep shows at 1, 3 and 6 p.m., respectively. A community burger feed begins at 5 p.m., the MK5K run and family walk starts at 6:30 p.m. and a bean bag tournament begins at 7 p.m. Also at 7 p.m. is the Prairie Reapers Tractor Pull.
On Thursday, 4-H events include the beef show at 8 a.m. and dairy show at 5 p.m. The Back 40 Boys Band will perform at 5 p.m., and a Nebraska Bush Pullers event begins at 7 and will be preceded by Nobles County Farm Family of the Year recognition. Matt Tennessen will perform in concert beginning at 8:30 p.m.
On Friday, the 4-H Swine Show is at 8 a.m., the goat show at 2 p.m. and the ribbon auction at 5 p.m. A Cowboy Mounted Shooting show starts at 6 p.m., and the Jeremy DeWall band will play beginning at 9 p.m.
Family-oriented activities are on the fair docket for Saturday, including kids face painting and a family and community coloring wall – both at 4 p.m. – and baby races at 5 p.m. There will be racing at the Worthington Speedway beginning at 7 p.m., and the Burning Daylight Band will be in convert starting at 9 p.m.
Among Sunday activities are an inspirational service at 10 a.m., a 4-H Pet Show at 12:30 p.m., and a Little Scrappers Pedal Pull at 1 p.m.
Merriam’s Midway carnival will be open daily, weather permitting, after Wednesday. A beer garden will be open daily for people 21 and older.
