Nobles Cooperative Electric announces the results of its recent elections for the cooperative's board of directors and nominating committee.
The election process began in March when ballots and informational materials were mailed to all cooperative members. Returned ballots were sent directly to the Pemberton Law Firm for independent tabulation.
In the election for the board of directors, Gary Clarke, who was first elected to the board in 2019, had 483 votes and was re-elected to represent District 3. Opponent Sarah Barber had 310 votes.
Also continuing her service on the board of directors is Cindy Hokeness, representing District 5. First elected in 2013, Cindy ran unopposed in this election cycle and was elected by acclamation.
For the nominating committee, Seth Swan has been elected to represent District 1. In District 2, Ryan Vos was elected by acclamation, being the only candidate nominated for that district. Both Swan and Vos are new members joining the nominating committee. The nominating committee members are essential to good governance within the cooperative. They recruit and evaluate potential board members, ensuring the board has the right mix of skills and experience to lead Nobles Cooperative Electric effectively.
A full copy of the election ballot count and minutes is available on the Nobles Cooperative Electric Annual Meeting webpage.
The board of directors will host its reorganization meeting, including the election of officers, during their next regular meeting scheduled for Friday.
