A Nobles County Sheriff's Office deputy and another individual who reportedly assaulted the deputy were transported to Sanford Worthington Medical Center Tuesday morning following an incident in Bigelow.
According to a press release issued by Nobles County Sheriff Ryan Kruger, the NCSO was dispatched at approximately 9 a.m. Tuesday to the 1400 block of Broadway Street in Bigelow to investigate a suspicious person.
The responding deputy encountered Amaiya Terese Dawson, 21, of St. Paul. Dawson, the press release said, assaulted the responding deputy. Both Dawson and the deputy were then transported to Worthington's hospital.
The incident is currently under investigation. The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Worthington Police Department.
