MPR 'Class Notes' concert coming to Minnesota West next week

Minnesota West's Fine Arts Department will host a Minnesota Public Radio Class Notes Concert in Worthington at 6 p.m. May 4 at the college's Worthington campus.  


Established in 2023, the Latin American ensemble Son de Cuerdas engages multicultural communities through performances, workshops, and collaborations in Minnesota. The trio features the combined sounds of flute, harp and piano, highlighting their combination of folkloric elements.


Son de Cuerdas' repertoire spans classical works by both established and underrepresented Latin American composers. Their audiences include students, educators, families, and community elders, with a particular emphasis on communities that see their cultural identity reflected in the ensemble’s work.
