Mountain Lake schools won't mandate masks in school buildings

The Mountain Lake Public School Board reviewed its COVID plan for the coming school year earlier this week, and a decision made earlier this summer to lift mandated usage of protective face coverings among students and staff remains intact.

Board Chair Chad Pedersen noted during the meeting that a letter to families will be sent out soon. He added that while face coverings are going to be recommended, they won't be required for students and staff inside the school buildings.

Face coverings, though, will still be required on transportation to and from any school function, whether it be to or from school, field trips, sporting events or practices.
