Minnesota West will be site for retirement party for Krekelberg

A retirement party for Worthington's Joel Krekelberg will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Minnesota West gym.

A Facebook post about the event notes that the event will honor Krekelberg's more than 50 years of dedication as an athletic trainer. 

"Through countless late nights, early mornings and phone calls from concerned coaches, parents and athletes. Krek has been a steady source of care, support and commitment to our community," the post states. "His passion for athletics and unwavering dedication have made a lasting impact on generations of athletes and families. Join us as we recognize and thank a true pillar of the community for his years of service, leadership and heart."

A program and coaches' photo is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Past and present coaches and players, co-workers, family, friends and community members are all welcome.
