The Buffalo Ridge Leathernecks Marine Corps League Detachment 1463 is offering a $1,500 scholarship to one 2022 graduate attending a Nobles County high school and is a child or stepchild of an active duty member of veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces.
The applicant must also be accepted into an institution of higher education and planning to enroll within the next 12 months.
To apply, individuals are asked to submit a 750-to-1,000 word essay, double spaced, answering the question, “What historical American personality would you most like to meet and why?”
Applicants should also highlight any honors, awards, extracurricular activities, sp orts and community service with the application. Also included should be proof of 2022 high school graduation, proof of parent or guardian’s military service and proof of acceptance to an institution of higher education.
