Man sought in Martin County incident involving pistol

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a male wanted in connection with an incident that occurred Thursday in Truman.

According to a press release issued Thursday, the Martin County Sheriff's Office responded to a report at 6:14 p.m. of domestic assault in the city of Truman. It was reported that an adult female had been shot in the chest with a pistol. The female was transported to a nearby hospital.

A firearm was found at the scene by law enforcement and secured. The male suspect was identified as Kyle Jonathan Liford, 32. Liford could possibly be driving a 2002 Green Chevrolet Tahoe with license plates MN NVU 782. It is unknown currently where Liford or the vehicle is. 

If anyone has any information about Liford’s or the vehicle’s whereabouts, contact the Martin County Sheriff’s Office at (507) 238-4481. Assisting at the scene was Fairmont Police Department, Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force, Truman Ambulance and Mayo Ambulance. This remains as an active investigation.
