Emergency responders from several area communities worked Tuesday afternoon to extricate a person who became submerged in a grain bin in rural Murray County.
The Murray County Sheriff’s Office reported that that a male victim was extricated from the grain but did not identify him or say what his condition was.
Murray County dispatch received a report at 3:17 p.m. Tuesday of a male trapped in a grain bin in the 700 block of 211th Street, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. Reports at the scene said the person was completely submerged in the grain, and people at the scene were unable to locate him.
Emergency personnel were able to extricate the victim from the grain bin. They remained on scene for about an hour, the sheriff’s office said.
Also assisting at the scene were the Balaton Fire Department and Ambulance, Tracy Fire Department, Garvin Fire Department, North Memorial Ambulance, North Memorial Air Care and the Marshall Fire Department. The incident remains under investigation.
