Man injured, two trucks totaled in crash near Harris

An Estherville man was taken to the hospital after a Monday crash near Harris, Iowa that totaled a FedEx truck and a newer pickup.

According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, a 2021 Rockport FedEx truck operated by Blake Enderson, 27, of Estherville, was westbound on 160th Street, about a mile and a half south of Harris, and a 2022 Dodge Ram pickup operated by Dylan Huisenga, 28, of South Sioux City was northbound on Wilson Avenue. Huisenga failed to yield the right of the way at the uncontrolled intersection, the sheriff’s office said, and the FedEx Truck and pickup collided at the intersection.

It’s also noted in the report that both drivers were unable to see because of heavy fog; the crash took place at about 8:45 a.m. Monday.

Enderson was transported by Sibley Ambulance to Lakes Regional Hospital in Spirit Lake, while Huisenga was unhurt. Both vehicles were a total loss. Huisenga was charged with failure to yield the right of way.

The Harris Fire Department and the Sibley Ambulance assisted at the scene.
