Man found guilty of felony domestic assault in Nobles County

A Nobles County jury returned a verdict Nov. 14 finding Karasharo Ojulo of Worthington guilty of felony domestic assault by strangulation.

According to a press release from the Nobles County Attorney's Office, the charges stemmed from an April 12 incident in which Ojulo became upset with the victim when she would not let him borrow her car. The victim reported to law enforcement that Ojulo then grabbed her by the neck and strangled her, threw her to the ground and pushed her. Ojulo was located three days later and arrested.

The trial lasted two days and was tried by Assistant Nobles County Attorney Ashlee Schuck on behalf of the State. The jury deliberated for over an hour before finding Ojulo guilty. Sentencing is set for Dec. 30.

Nobles County Attorney Braden Hoefert said the Nobles County Attorney’s Office wishes to reaffirm its commitment to vigorously prosecuting all cases of domestic abuse and intimate partner violence in Nobles County. He also thanked members of the jury.
