Man dies in Thursday rollover crash in Rock County

One person died Thursday and another was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital as the result of a crash in Rock County that involved a semi.

According to the Rock County Sheriff's Office, the crash was reported at 6:10 a.m. on Rock County 11 and 61^st Street. A 2003 Kenworth truck owned by 213 Farms LLC of Luverne and operated by Caden Drew Metzger, 21, of Sioux Falls was northbound, entered the ditch and rolled over. 

Metzger was reported dead at the scene of the crash. His passenger, Matthew Peter Renken, 24, of Hills, was airlifted to Avera Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

A sheriff's office press release issued Friday stated that the investigation of the crash was continuing. Assisting at the scene were the Hills Fire Department, Luverne Fire Department, Rock County Ambulance and the Minnesota State Patrol.
