Kilen Woods State Park clean-up day will take place May 2

Federated Rural Electric in Jackson, a local Touchstone Energy Cooperative, will sponsor a clean-up day on Saturday, May 2 at Kilen Woods State Park, north of Lakefield.

On this day, electric cooperative employees, customers and the general public will set aside a work day in various parks throughout the state. Volunteers will clean picnic shelters, fix existing structures, and pick up branches and litter on the trails.

Locally, Federated Rural Electric employees, customers and the general public are invited to Kilen Woods State Park, northeast of Lakefield, from 9 a.m. to noon. All ages are welcome. Volunteers will enjoy hot dogs, chips and cookies for lunch.

You do not need to be a Federated member to volunteer. Volunteers need to RSVP by noon April 30 so enough hot dogs are purchased. E-mail info@federatedrea.coop to register. In case of bad weather, check Federated’s Facebook page.
