June was warmer, drier than normal weather-wise

Worthington weather in June featured high temperatures that were a bit warmer than normal, lows also warmer than what’s typical and drier than average conditions, according to data compiled at the Worthington Wastewater Treatment Plant.


The normal average high temperature in Worthington in June is 78.4 degrees and the average low is 57.4 degrees, according to National Weather Service statistics. This year, those corresponding numbers are 79.8 degrees and 59.2 degrees, respectively, meaning that June highs were 1.4 degrees warmer than average and the month’s lows 1.8 degrees above normal.


June’s highest temperature in Worthington was 95 degrees, which was reported on the 21st, and next warmest were highs of 94 degrees reported on the 20th, 22nd and 30th, respectively. The coldest reading of the month in Worthington was recorded on June 3 at 45 degrees, and there was a low of 47 degrees on June 1.


In terms of precipitation, Worthington had a measured total of 3.13 inches of moisture during the month of June. Comparatively, National Weather Service statistics indicate that the average rainfall for the month of June is 5.24 inches. A total of 1.4 inches of rain was measured on June 13; next most was .42 inches on June 4.


For the first six months of 2022, Worthington’s average high is 47.9 degrees and the average low is 25.9. Historical averages for January through June are 48.7 and 28.8 degrees. The total precipitation thus far has been 12.94 inches; the historical norm is 15.39 inches.
