June had rain at the end of the month, but it remains dry overall

Temperatures for the month of June were close to normal and precipitation for the month more than an inch and a half less than average, according to data compiled at the Worthington Wastewater Treatment Plant.


Worthington had an average high of 79.0 degrees this past month, which is sixth-tenths of a degree warmer than the typical June high of 78.4. A high of 93 degrees was recorded on June 10th; a high of 90 came on the final day of the month.


The average low in Worthington in June was 57.8 degrees, or four-tenths of a degree warmer than average. The lowest temperature reading was 49 degrees, which came on June 19th. It was 50 on June 16th.


As for rain, Worthington recorded 3.46 inches of precipitation during the just-completed month, compared to the normal amount of 5.24 inches. A total of 1.19 inches of rain was measured on June 4th; another .97 inches of rain came on the 28th.


For the six months of the year, Worthington has an average high of 54.4 degrees and average low of 30.7. By comparison, average highs and lows for the first six months of the year are 48.5 and 28.7 degrees, respectively. Worthington has received 11.36 inches of precipitation in January through June, compared to the normal amount of 15.39 inches. The normal amount of rain for Worthington in July is 3.54 inches.
