July is warmer than normal while shortage in rainfall remains

High and low temperatures for the month of July were both above normal and precipitation for the month was about seven-tenths of an inch less than average, according to data compiled at the Worthington Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Worthington had an average high of 84.3 degrees this past month, which is 2.3 degrees warmer than the typical July high of 82.0. A high of 94 degrees was recorded on July 27th; it was also 91 on the 18^th and 90 on both the 28^th and 29th.

The average low in Worthington in July was 64.9 degrees, or 4.1 degrees warmer than average. The lowest temperature reading was 47 degrees, which came on July 23rd. The next coolest was 51 on the 24th.

Worthington recorded 2.83 inches of precipitation during July, with all but .15 inches of it coming in the month's first eight days. The normal amount of rain in July is 3.54 inches. A total of 1.84 inches of rain was measured this past July 1-3.

For the six months of the year, Worthington has an average high of 58.6 degrees and average low of 35.6. By comparison, average highs and lows for the first seven months of the year are 53.3 and 33.3 degrees, respectively. Worthington has received 14.19 inches of precipitation in January through July, compared to the normal amount of 15.39 inches.
