North Dakota State College of Science scored 17 unanswered points in a stretch of a little over eight minutes during the third and fourth quarters, breaking open a close game to lead the Wildcats to a 29-9 victory over Minnesota West on Saturday afternoon.
A 43-yard TD run by Roosevelt Cage on the third play of the game and a five-yard scoring run from Chandler Ross less than a minute into the second quarter put NDSCS ahead of the Bluejays, 12-0, but Minnesota West – playing its season opener -- hung tough and got within 12-3 on a 30-yard Triston Sauerbrei field goal with just 10 seconds left in the first half.

A field goal and two-yard plunge by NDSCS’s Makhi Jackson closed out the scoring.
