Community Blood Bank, the Nobles County Sheriff's Office, Sanford Worthington Ambulance, Worthington Police Department, Worthington Fire Department and Sanford Worthington Medical Center are teaming up to host a Heroes Behind the Badges Blood Drive from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 5 p.m. Aug. 4.
The annual event will take place at Sanford Worthington Medical Center. Donors will be asked to cast their donation vote to their department of choice. The department with the most donation votes cast will win the traveling trophy and bragging rights for the year.
Community Blood Bank reports that blood donations are running low this summer and blood usage has increased because an increased number of surgeries, emergencies and traumas.
