Iowa Republican U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, a lifelong family farmer and member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, has accepted Growth Energy’s 2025 “Fueling Growth Award” for his efforts to support biofuel production.
A press release stated that Grassley has continued to work with his Senate colleagues, the Trump administration and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to advance renewable energies and restore integrity to the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). Since establishing the RFS in the Energy Policy Act of 2005, Grassley has conducted oversight to ensure the executive branch implements the law as intended. Additionally, Grassley has stood up for biofuels and the importance of the RFS countless times by calling out the EPA across administrations.
As an Iowa corn and soybean farmer, Grassley said in the press release, he personally knows about the many benefits of biofuels. He added that he’ll keep pushing to expand biofuels markets at the federal policymaking tables, especially through his continued advocacy for year-round, nationwide E15.
