As summer begins to wind down, Nobles Cooperative Electric is reminding local nonprofit organizations that Fall Operation Round Up grant applications are due by Sept. 1.
Operation Round Up is funded entirely through the generosity of Nobles Cooperative Electric members who voluntarily round up their monthly electric bills to the next whole dollar. While the individual contributions are small, typically just a few cents each month, they add up to make a meaningful impact throughout the cooperative's service area.
Since the program began, Operation Round Up has awarded thousands of dollars to organizations that enhance the quality of life in local communities. Grants have supported emergency responders, food shelves, youth organizations, community projects, educational programs and many other charitable initiatives.
Eligible nonprofit organizations serving Nobles Cooperative Electric's service territory are encouraged to apply for funding. The Operation Round Up Board reviews applications and awards grants to projects that provide lasting benefits to local communities.
