The Redenius Repair auto and transmission shop in Fulda is likely a total loss following a fire Tuesday.
Fulda Fire Department Chief Dave Baumhoefner said Wednesday that Fulda firefighters were dispatched at approximately 10:47 a.m. to Redenius Repair, located near the corner of Second Street Northwest and North Lafayette Avenue. Upon firefighters’ arrival, flames could be observed going out the front doors of the addition on the east side of the building, and heavy smoke was exiting the remainder of the building.
The Slayton Fire Department was dispatched to the scene for additional manpower, and the Worthington Fire Department was called for the use of its aerial truck to more safely access the roof. There were no injuries resulting from the blaze, as no one was inside when the fire started.
Boemhoefner said firefighters were on the scene until around 3 p.m. The state fire marshal was scheduled to be at the site today to continue investigation of the fire’s cause.
