Friday semi crash results in injuries to North Carolina man

A crash of a semi Friday on Iowa 60 about a mile south of Sheldon injured a North Carolina man.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, a 2023 Freightliner operated by Aliki Simmons, 49, of Whitsett, N.C. that was pulling a refrigerated trailer was northbound when it lost control, went into the east ditch and jack-knifed. The crash took place at 7:41 am Friday.
Simmons was taken by ambulance to the Sheldon hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the semi was estimated at $25,000.
