Marj Fogelman of rural Fulda has been endorsed by District 21B Republicans for the seat currently held by Rep. Rod Hamilton of Mountain Lake.
Hamilton, who has held the seat since 2004, announced in January that he will not seek re-election in November. Fogelman is one of four candidates who were seeking the endorsement.
Fogelman describes herself on her Marj Fogelman for House Facebook page as a Christian, mother, wife, business owner and conservative. She noted in February that she was running “because I care about my kids' future, our country, and our freedoms.”
Fogeleman captured the GOP endorsement for the seat at the May 7 district convention in Heron Lake.
‘I look forward to the challenge and working with all of you to make things better for Minnesota,” said Fogelman on her Facebook page. “We have a lot to do .... election integrity, protecting the unborn, supporting our police, tax issues. District 21B we all need to work together!
“I am truly humbled and thankful for your endorsement. I am working for you and with you! There is a lot of work to do in the coming months!!
The newly configured District 21B seat reflects much of the District 22B territory currently represented by Hamilton. District 21B will include the eastern half of Nobles County, all of Jackson County and portions of Cottonwood, Martin and Watonwan counties.
